Summer Internships

Thank you for your interest in our summer program.
Applications for 2025 are now closed

Undergraduate Experience

Our Summer Cohort internship program will bring together 4 undergraduate students with backgrounds in STEM, business, art, and communications who share an interest in quantum science. Each intern will spend time working in and learning about all aspects of a technology company. As a member of the internship cohort, you will also work collaboratively with each other on a project that will mirror the start-up experience.

This program is designed to provide an immersive hands-on experience in the world of technology start-ups. You will gain experience in quantum technology and the role of collaboration in development. You will leave with an awareness of how a start up company functions along with a broader understanding of potential career paths within quantum.

We are looking for thoughtful, creative people who work hard, recognize the value of teamwork and collaboration, and are open to new experiences.
The only requirement is an interest in quantum science.

Graduate Program

Open to Masters and PhD students with an interest in both science and entrepreneurship. Students will be mentored by a QuantCAD PI for the scientific study and the QuantCAD CEO for the entrepreneurial outcomes. Students may apply to both topics if desired.

We encourage applications from students of all backgrounds who have an interest in both science and entrepreneurship.

Due to the current uncertainty with regard to federal funding, we have had to cancel our graduate program for this year. We hope to bring it back next summer.

Topic 1: Quantum Sensing

Interns will work on the prototype development of either a cost-effective quantum sensor NV NMR device or an all electrical chip-scale atomic magnetometer. On the entrepreneurial side, you will work on commercializing the devices.

Interns will investigate the possibility of replacing gallium nitride-based devices with boron nitride and the commercial implications of the transition from GaN to hBN from either an energy equity or an economic perspective.
